    • This handbook will get you on the way to be a great developer evangelist for any product or company. Of course your approach needs tweaking for different markets and audiences – and in accordance with your own personality – but the main principles are the same for everybody and anywhere in the world.

Developer evangelism is a totally new field of work and the first hurdle you will encounter is people asking what a developer evangelist is and why any company would need a role like that.

    • SwiftRiver is a free and open source platform that helps people make sense of a lot of information in a short amount of time. The SwiftRiver platform was born out of the need to understand and act upon a wave of massive amounts of crisis data that tends to overwhelm in the first 24 hours of a disaster. • Maple is an open source ARM based board designed by Leaflabs and is an easy to use platform just like the arduino. Maple is a board based on the STM32F103RBmicroprocessor. The Maple runs at a maximum of 72 MHz, has 39 digital input/output pins, 16 analog inputs, native full speed USB, 3 USARTs (hardware serial ports), integrated SPI/I2C support, a power jack, and a reset button. Maple is programmable over USB via our provided DFU boot loader, no extra hardware required! Users can also program the onboard program flash via external JTAG interface. Maple offers security support for read/write protected addresses, as well as User and Handler processor modes. It has a real-time sysTick, useful for a real time OS or any timing sensitive applications. 6 advanced interrupt timers will help you here as well. Maple can be powered via USB, a wall adapter, or it can run off of a rechargeable lipo battery (see below for more info).

    • SQLCipher is an open source SQLite encryption extension. It provides transparent, full database, AES -256 encryption with minimal performance impact. SQLCipher works by encrypting database pages before they are written to storage and decrypts them on read so encryption functionality is completely separate from the application.
SQLCipher uses good security practices including CBC mode, randomized initialization vectors, and PBKDF2 key derivation with a unique database salt. SQLCipher depends on the trusted and peer-reviewed OpenSSL project for cryptographic functions. SQLCipher is cross platform and has been used successfully on the iPhone, Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows
